Jalandhar: DAV College Jalandhar organised “Aashirvaad 2026”, a grand function to honour the meritorious toppers of Classes X and XII from Jalandhar district and neighbouring districts. The programme marked a new initiative of the college aimed at recognising and encouraging young academic talent and inspiring students to strive for excellence in their careers and higher education.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response as nearly 193 toppers from around 30 schools participated enthusiastically in the programme. Students from Nakodar, Bilga, Kapurthala, Kartarpur, Ludhiana and several other areas graced the occasion along with their parents and teachers. Mahesh Thakur the district topper for class X was also honoured along with his father. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sandeep Rishi, Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar. Addressing the gathering, he congratulated the distinguished scholars on their remarkable achievement and exhorted them to remain focused towards their goals with dedication, discipline and perseverance. He appreciated the initiative taken by DAV College Jalandhar to honour academic excellence and motivate young achievers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anoop Kumar, Principal of the college, apprised the audience of the glorious history of the institution, its rich academic legacy and the state-of-the-art infrastructure available on the campus. He highlighted the various facilities being provided by the college for the holistic development of students and reiterated the institution’s commitment towards quality education. Dr Anoop Kumar also made a significant announcement that no deserving student would remain deprived of education due to financial constraints. He stated that the doors of DAV College Jalandhar are always open for deserving and meritorious students who aspire to achieve excellence in life. The success of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr Kunwer Rajeev, Senior Vice Principal, Sonika Dania, Vice Principal, Registrar Prof Ashok Kapoor, Dr Manu Sood, Dr Rishi Kumar, Prof Manish Khanna, Dr Renuka Malhotra and the entire organising team, who worked tirelessly for the smooth conduct of the event.
The programme was gracefully anchored by Prof Sharad Manocha, who conducted the proceedings in an impressive and engaging manner. The event concluded on a highly inspirational note, leaving the students motivated to pursue greater heights in academics and life.
