Jalandhar: DAV College, Jalandhar, under the aegis of the Post-Graduate Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Departments of Sociology, Psychology and Philosophy, organized a farewell function for the outgoing batch of BA, BA (Honours) Political Science and PG Political Science. The programme was organized under the visionary leadership and guidance of Principal Dr. Anoop Kumar. The programme was organized on the theme of ‘Aashirwad-2026’ with a view to bid a formal farewell to the outgoing batch. As per the traditions of the College, the programme commenced with the recitation of DAV Gaan. Prof. Kuldeep Khullar, the In-charge of the Political Science Forum, delivered an introductory address and said that, as per the traditions of the College, the programme has been planned to bid a formal farewell to the outgoing students of BA, BA (Honours) & PG (Political Science). He also extended a hearty welcome to Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Senior Vice- Principal; Prof. Sonika Dania, Vice-Principal; Prof. Sharad Manocha; Dr. Navjeet Sharma, Dean Academics; and other staff members on the occasion. Dr. Kunwar Rajeev, Senior Vice-Principal, in his address, congratulated the outgoing students and wished them great success in their future endeavors. He motivated the students to adopt a positive approach in their life to overcome challenges and achieve long-term success.
On this occasion, all the outgoing students were honored with a souvenir having their photo along with the photo of the College heritage building as a token of love and remembrance. The outgoing students also shared their experiences and cherished memories of their stay in the College. They reflected upon their academic journey and delivered inspiring words, making the occasion both heartfelt and memorable. The farewell sentiments were further expressed as students bid their goodbyes to the institution and their peers. The programme, anchored by Divishi Verma, also featured a series of cultural performances, including a musical presentation by Diwakar and his band, a dance performance by Bhumika and her group, and a mono-acting poetry recitation by Tushar, showcasing the ibrant talents of the students. Muskan Sharma, a final-year student, expressed her gratitude to the juniors for organizing the farewell.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Dinesh Arora, Head, Department of Political Science. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Deputy Registrar Prof. Manish Khanna, Prof. Sharad Manocha, Prof. Pankaj Gupta (PRO), Prof. Amrit Pal Singh, Prof. Prerna, Dr. Isha, and Prof. Abhijeet Singh, whose support and encouragement added to the significance of this event. The event stood as a meaningful tribute to the journey of the graduating students, marking the culmination of their time in the department with reflection, gratitude, and best wishes for their future endeavors.
