Jalandhar: Sant Baba Bhag Singh University successfully organized the 'Viksit Bharat Yuva Jodo Program' under the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047'. The event was held with the blessings of respected Sant Baba Malikrit Singh Ji (Bani Chancellor) and Sant Baba Dilawar Singh Ji (Brahm Ji), and was led by Chancellor Sant Baba Manmohan Singh Ji, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Palvinder Singh, and Secretary Hardeep Singh Minhas.
The main goal of the program was to inspire youth to actively contribute to building a developed, self-reliant, and progressive India by the year 2047. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony to mark the occasion. During the program, Prof. Palvinder Singh urged young people and society to support the 'Drug-Free India Campaign' enthusiastically. He expressed concern over the rising social challenge of drug addiction among the country's most valuable asset—its youth—and emphasized that issues like peer pressure, stress, and unemployment can only be addressed through education, counseling, and family support.
The Vice-Chancellor also called on parents, teachers, and citizens to take immediate action and break the silence on drug abuse. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to organizing awareness programs that help make India’s youth healthy, responsible, and drug-free.
Special guest  Ms. Sakshi Sharma addressed the students, highlighting the importance of youth participation in nation-building. She encouraged students to adopt social responsibility, leadership, and service to realize the dream of a developed India from 1947 to 2047. She also emphasized the significance of the 'My Bharat Portal' in connecting youth with various initiatives and volunteer opportunities for nation-building.
The program was supported by the NSS Regional Directorate in Chandigarh, with NSS and Red Ribbon Club officers, including Vireinder Kumar, actively organizing the event. Students and faculty participated with great enthusiasm, demonstrating their commitment to social service and national development.
During the event, information was shared about volunteer work, youth empowerment, health awareness, and social inclusion, along with the objectives of the National Service Scheme and Red Ribbon Club. Participants were encouraged to register on the 'My Bharat Portal' and contribute actively toward realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all guests, the NSS Regional Directorate, faculty members, volunteers, and students for making the event a grand success. The event reaffirmed Sant Baba Bhagat Singh University’s pledge to nurture responsible citizens and empower youth to play a vital role in the journey toward a prosperous India in 2047.
